Barcelona's main train station for national and international arrivals and
departures is Estació de Sants. Tickets can be booked in advance from the RENFE
website, by telephone or at the station itself.

The FGC Catalonia Railways
The FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Catalunya) operates the fleet
of trains and trams in the Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona and Lleida provinces
which includes the Costa Brava and Costa Dorada regions.
Services are:
- Barcelona to Valles
- Llobregat to Anoia
- Lleida to La Pobla de Segur
- FGC also handles the Montserrat Line (Montserrat rack train and the
funiculars of Sant Joan and Santa Cova), the La Molina and the Vall de Nuria
lines

Barcelona Metro
There are seven metro lines to get around Barcelona. There is lots of

Practical Information
Bicycles can be taken on the metro on weekends and public holidays and during
July and August. In the week bicycles can be taken from 05:00-07:00, from
09:30-17:00 and from 20:30 until closing time.
Guide dogs and dogs accompanying security guards are permitted on the metro.
Pets may not be carried on the metro unless they are in special containers.
It is not permitted to enter the metro on roller-skates or roller-blades.
Barcelona Trams
Barcelona's Tram opened its first line in April 2004. There are four lines,
three operated through the Trambaix offices:
Line T1 Francesc Macià to Cornellà and Sant Joan Despí (centre).
Line T2 Francesc Macià to Cornellà and Sant Joan Despí (Hospital
Comarcal).
Line T3 Francesc Macià to Sant Just and Sant Feliu.

Reductions & Discounts
- Children under 6 years of age travel free on
RENFE
trains, on the metro and on trams
- A reduction of 40 percent is given on the price of a single or return ticket for
children under 12 years of age
- Group discounts are available but apply only if the group is making the same journey at the same
time on the same date
- Tarjeta Dorada (Golden Ticket) is available for pensioners (over 60) and
people with a 65 percent or more disability. The ticket qualifies for a 40
percent reduction on the price of single or return journeys any day of the week. Those
accompanying a disabled traveller also receive the discount.
- Family discounts are also available but are dependent on family size and
circumstance. You will need to ask for further details
