The main BBC stations and other English-language radio can also be received via many satellite TV installations or over the Internet. Previously broadcast programmes can often be listened to again or downloaded.

Radio on the Internet

Many international radio stations are available streamed live on the Internet. You typically need RealPlayer (Real Player Basic, the free version, is rather hidden away on the real.com website, but it does exist) although sometimes a feed is available in Windows Media format, compatible with the players that have shipped with recent versions of Windows and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Television

It is possible to access UK-based free-to-air (FTA) programming on the same satellite that broadcasts Sky Digital. Please note, however, that there is no legal way to access encrypted programming on that satellite while in Spain (such as Sky Digital's premium channels accessible only through a Sky subscription package, or those channels that may only be watched in the UK using a satellite receiver with a free-to-view - FTV - card installed).

Print & Newspapers

Barcelona Metropolitan is a free, monthly, English-language magazine available from various bars, cafes, chambers of commerce and institutions in the city (see distribution points).

Barcelona Connect is a free monthly A5 format magazine providing information on events, travel tips, nightlife and an English classified section for Barcelona.

BCN Inside is a bi-monthly magazine with information on the city of Barcelona and a guide to clubs, venues, restaurants and bars. Distributed for free at clubs, restaurants, bars and Consulates in the city (see distribution points).

Most major international daily and weekend newspapers from the UK, US and Germany are available at many news stands, usually on the day following publication.
