Monday 8th October 2007Help from HomeWherever you're from originally, it can be helpful to know about the people who can represent you in Spain. Practically all countries have officials working in their embassies (which exist to present the country to Spain, as it were), and also in consular services, which assist the countries' nationals visiting or living in Spain. Paperwork and passportsDepending on your nationality, you may find
that your country's consular services can provide a great deal of help
for your life in Spain. The US Consulate in Madrid, for
example, has a wealth of detailed information on its website, which is a
handy guide for many issues that crop up if you're an American in the
country; while the British Embassy and British Consulate in
Spain produce "Living in Spain", a section of the website
where articles and news items of pertinence or interest to UK residents
are published. AngloINFO has an INFOrmation Page devoted to Citizen
Guides & Other Consular Services which can point you towards
these and other resources from various consulates. Find the contact information of your
nation's consular representative in the Consulates
& Embassies category of The AngloFILE. From issuing a
replacement passport to assisting with the registration of a birth, you
may be surprised by how much help you can get! What else?Keeping up with all the new stuff on AngloINFO is easy - just click here!
